2012 ANKENY HAWKS, 43-2

The 2012 Hawks were steller all year long and were playing their best ball when it counted most- they won their last 28 games.  They rolled through the state tournament field, ending with a ten run rule of Fort Dodge in the title game. Nick Belzer anchored a pitching staff that struck out 291 batters with a team ERA of 1.71.  Pair that with 39 home runs and 96 doubles and it’s easy to see why this team deserves to be towards the top of this list.
